What we collect
If you create an account, we store your email address, chosen username, avatar selection, game rating, and your game history (moves, results, timestamps). If you play as a guest, nothing is stored.
How it is used
Your email is used only for authentication and password resets. Your username, avatar, and rating are shown to other players on leaderboards and in online games. Game records power your rating history graph. We do not sell or share your data with third parties, and we do not send marketing emails.
Third parties
Accounts and databases are hosted on Supabase; the site is hosted on Render. If you sign in with Google, Google handles the authentication step — we receive only your email and display name. Chess analysis runs locally in your browser via Stockfish and never sends your positions anywhere.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage to remember your preferences (board theme, sounds, animation speed) and your session so you stay signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
Deleting your data
Want your account gone? Send a message through the feedback form with the email you signed up with and we will delete it. You can also clear your stored preferences any time by clearing site data in your browser.
